As you know, safety is very important in the construction industry. Just in case you have forgotten, here is some common knowledge you should know while working on the job site.

  • Carefully listen to all safety training
  • Make sure you are following all company/site safety rules
  • If given a certain piece of equipment to work with and are unsure how to use it properly,
    ask for help.
  • Do not ignore any safety hazards
  • Always be aware of where you are walking and driving
  • Use required protective equipment
  • Always read operation materials before working with new equipment
  • Know what to do in case of emergency
  • Inspect equipment and tools before you use them
  • Always plan safety into every jobsite
  • Be aware of others working around you
  • Do not assume safety is someone else’s job
  • Keep all work areas clean
  • Report any hazards if you see any on the site
  • Give full attention to your tasks at hand
  • If doing repetitive work, take breaks
  • Make sure you are physically and mentally prepared when doing tasks
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help
